Sanitary Centrifugal Pumps: The most widely used hydraulic pump, the sanitary centrifugal pump utilizes an electric or gas powered motor to pump and transport fluids. As the check valve lifts, liquid flows into the pump and is pushed out of the bottom of the pump, due to the compressed air at the top of the diaphragm chamber the pushes the piston down. Sanitary diaphragm pumps are a popular choice for industrial and mining applications, as they can handle liquids with high levels of contaminants and solids, helping them separate out waters from metals and other materials. They are also highly effective where electricity and flammable devices such as a small motor would not be permitted.
